                                                     Leased Lines

        In this type of connection, digital data is transmitted at a speed of 64 kbps. It is a dedicated connection. CSBL has provided leased line connectivity to Thrissur. At CSBL end, there is a Cisco 1720 router connected to a leased line modem. The client end requires one or more leased line modems depending in the number of intermediate telephone exchanges between them and CSBL end.

Cost incurred at client end:

Cisco 805 router                       : Rs. 50,000/-

Leased Line modem  (2 pair)     : Rs. 1,00,000/-

Recurring charges                    : Leased Line rent( Rs. 5000/- per km)

Advantage

(1)  Dedicated and consistent bandwidth can be obtained from 64 kbps to 2 Mbps if required.
