          In this scheme, data is transmitted in analog format at a speed of 33 kbps. At CSBL end, we have the Cisco 2610 router with NM 32 module capable of providing up to 32 dial-up connections. This router is also connected to the Multex Server.

     The client requires 2 modems & two telephone lines one at their end & the other at CSBL end.

Costs incurred:

2 modems                 : Rs. 5000/-

2 PSTN lines                     

Recurring charges      : Dial-Up charges

Advantages

(1)  Cost effective method but at the cost of lower and inconsistent bandwidth.

Currently, CSBL has provided dial-up connections to 12 clients placed over Pala, Erattupetta, Island, Thodupuzha, Kadavanthara, Piravom, Muvattupuzha & Chalakkudy.
